Blue Demons take two of three matches on Florida road trip

BOCA RATON, Fla. – DePaul men's tennis dropped its match on Saturday afternoon against No. 45 Florida Atlantic (FAU) at the Kimberly V. Strauss Tennis Center, 6-1.

The Blue Demons fell behind early after giving up the doubles point to No. 45 FAU.

Sophomore Pablo Torres Almeida proved to be the bright spot, picking up his fourth consecutive singles victory on Saturday. Torres Almeida took down Mark Havlicek at No. 5 in a 7-6(4), 6-3 decision.

No. 45 FAU (14-5) recorded four straight-set wins in singles, with Leon Huck (No. 1) and Sven Moser (No. 6) taking their matches to a third set. Huck and Moser fell in tight battles, each dropping their final set, 2-6.

DePaul returns to Lincoln Park after taking down FGCU on Tuesday in Fort Myers, and Brown on Thursday in Boca Raton. The Blue Demons could not push past the highly-ranked FAU attack, marking an end to the 2024 Blue Demon 'Spring Break Tour'.
