Blue Demons Take on Xavier in Final Regular Season Match

DePaul returns to Lakeshore Sport & Fitness for final time this season
CHICAGO – DePaul men's tennis returns to Lincoln Park to conclude its dual season against the Xavier Musketeers on Saturday, April 13. First serve is scheduled for 5:15 p.m. CT, preceded by a senior day recognition ceremony twenty-five minutes prior.
With an impressive 4-1 record in their last five outings, the Blue Demons (10-9) look to carry the momentum into their final BIG EAST match of the season. DePaul most recently swept conference rival Butler, in a 7-0 domination on Saturday, April 6 at XS Tennis Village.
Leading the charge, Pablo Torres Almeida boasts a stellar 9-2 singles record, with an impressive streak of six consecutive victories.
On the heels of five straight doubles victories, the dynamic duo of Leon Huck and Sven Moser, enter with a 10-2 record in the dual season.
Xavier (4-16) arrives in Chicago fresh off two consecutive victories against Tennessee St. and Marquette. The Musketeers also have wins over Northern Kentucky and Villanova, with an overall 2-3 conference record this season.
In head-to-head matchups since 2009, DePaul has dominated Xavier with a commanding 10-1 record, including five consecutive victories. Their last encounter saw the Blue Demons secure a convincing 5-2 win on March 26, 2023, against Xavier.
Vito Tonejc, a returning graduate student, rejoins the Blue Demons Saturday in his season-debut.
