J. Mays Breaks School Record, DePaul Wins Eight Events

DePaul completes Gibson Invitational
Terre Haute, Ind. – DePaul track and field completed the Gibson Invitational Saturday afternoon. The Blue Demons brought home nine first place finishes including Jetta May's school record in the women's 100m.
Jaiah Hopf was first to claim gold, winning the women's long jump with a final mark of 5.74m. Hopf also claimed first place in the women's triple jump with a final mark of 12.22m. Darius Brown followed with another win in the men's 110m hurdles after achieving a final time of 13.66. Brown went on to also dominate the men's 400m hurdles, finishing with a final time of 52.24.
J. Mays was DePaul's sole record break of the day, claiming first in the women's 100m race with a NCAA West Regional Qualifying time of 11.40. J. Mays went on to earn another gold in the women's 200m race with a final time of 24.58.
Freshman Claire Dunn was DePaul's sixth first place finish of the evening, dominating the women's 400m with a final time of 55.20. The women's 4x400m relay team made up of Kayliah Motes, Dunn, Maia Mays and Nadja Moll claimed another victory for DePaul with a first place finish and a final time of 3:46.56.
Kash Allen rounded out DePaul's first place finishes after claiming her third consecutive win the the women's shot put this season. The Blue Demon earned a new personal best and a final mark of 15.21m.
In addition to the first place finishes, three Blue Demons brought home new personal bests in their events. On the field, freshman Amelia Barrington had a personal best in the women's high jump with a final mark of 1.62m. In the women's 1500m, Madison Volz claimed a new personal best time of 4:41.25.
Following in the women's 800m, Lesley Viveros finished with a new personal best time of 2:19.76 and in the women's 200m, Kayliah Motes earned a new personal best time of 25.01.
