DePaul Prepares for Drake Relays

CHICAGO – DePaul track and field prepares for the Drake Relays, Friday April, 25 and Saturday April 26. Fans can keep up with live stats here.Â
ÂDePaul returns to the renowned event after a seven year hiatus, sending 24 student athletes to compete in the two-day long competition.Â
ÂOn Friday, DePaul record holder Jaiah Hopf is set to be one of the first Blue Demons to compete, participating in both the women's triple jump and the long jump. Hopf earned two first place finishes at the Gibson Invitational last week in both events.Â
ÂDarius Brown is scheduled to compete in the men's 110m hurdles at 12:33 p.m. CT. The Louisville native also collected a first place finish in his designated event last weekend with a time of 13.66.Â
ÂBoth the men's and women's 4x100m teams will be competing. On the women's side, Nevaeh Lowe, Claire Dunn, Maia Mays and Jetta Mays will run at 1:23 p.m. while Brown, Charles Lewis, Dominic Cole and Cameron Attucks will compete at 1:32 p.m.Â
ÂBIG EAST Field Athlete of the Week, Kash Allen and World Champion Noelle Malkamaki are scheduled to compete in the University Division Championship women's shot put at 6:30 p.m.Â
ÂOlivia Borowiak is set to race in the women's 1500m at 6:48 p.m. Borowiak currently holds DePaul's 1500m record with 4:23.70 time.Â
ÂTo round out Friday's competition, the 4x800m relays will take place. On the women's side, Alexa Havon, Sonja Nagle, Lauren Pacsi, Isabelle Orozco, Meghan Dieball and Madison Volz are on deck, while Lucas Cunningham, Joe Knanishu, Jack Ward and Damian Rodriguez will run on the men's side.Â
ÂOn Saturday, Charlotte Anderson opens the competition with the women's javelin before both men's and women's DMR teams run at 12:42 p.m.
ÂEveline Reno is set to compete in the women's high jump with Brown competing in the 110m hurdles again at 1:28 p.m.Â
ÂIn the SMR, J. Mays, Dunn, Kayliah Motes and Havon represent DePaul on the women's side, while Cole, Daniel Fasasi, Jarel Terry and Rodriguez compete for the men. Following the SMR races, Billie Martin searches for another gold in the women's hammer throw after achieving first place in the event at last weekend's Gibson Invitational.Â
ÂThe Blue Demons close out the weekend with the men's and women's 4x100m finals, the men's and women's 4x400m invite and the 4x400m open.Â
