Anaya Peoples to Compete in Women’s College All-Star Game

CLEVELAND — DePaul women's basketball guard Anaya Peoples has been selected to compete in the College All-Star Game on April 6, joining other seniors from across the country in a nationally televised contest on ESPN2. The game will be held at 2:30 p.m. CT at the Wolstein Center on the campus of Cleveland State.
The Women's College All-Star Game, re-launched after first taking place 25 years ago, will bring together a collection of All-Americans, game changers and future pros that shaped the landscape of college basketball this season.
Peoples started in 31 games for the Blue Demons, leading the team in multiple categories including scoring and rebounding, en route to being named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team. The Danville. Ill. native averaged a team-best 16.8 points per game and reaching double figures in 26 games played this season. She turned in 12 outings of 20 or more points including a career-high 37 points to go with 16 rebounds in an overtime setback to St. John's on Jan. 25.
On the glass, Peoples collected 247 rebounds this season, the most of any campaign in her career, to rank fifth in the league with an average of 8.1 rebounds per game while posting a team-high six double-doubles. She also paced the Blue Demons in assists with 3.3 per game and blocked shots with 29 this season.
The 20 seniors, who will begin pursuit of their professional careers after this season, includes five All-Americans and 13 All-Conference selections. Ten different conferences are represented in the Women's College All-Star Game, led by the ACC (3), Big 12 (3), Big East (3) and Big Ten (3). Players also represent schools from the Ivy League, MAC, Missouri Valley, Pac-12, SEC and WCC.
Student-athletes will appear on one of two teams – Team Lieberman and Team Miller – that will be coached by Naismith Basketball Hall of Famers Nancy Lieberman and Chery Miller, respectively. Peoples will suit up for Team Miller with complete rosters found below:
