Carbone and Smith Earn BIG EAST Doubles Team of the Week Honors

CHICAGO – DePaul's Greta Carbone and Hannah Smith were named the BIG EAST Doubles Team of the Week on Monday afternoon the league announced.

Monday marks the third time this season a DePaul doubles pair has been recognized as the Blue Demons have claimed the doubles point in 10 out of the last 11 matches.

The tandem of Carbone and Smith improved to 10-4 this dual season after going 2-0 last weekend as DePaul picked up wins over St. John's and Seton Hall to move to 7-0 against BIG EAST opponents in 2024.

Against the Red Storm, the Blue Demon duo downed Mouna Bouzgarro/Arina Gumerova 6-4 to clinch the doubles point before dominating Aina Plana Ventosa/Arabella Moen of Seton Hall 6-1 on Saturday.

The duo is 10-3 at the No. 1 spot this dual season.

The Blue Demons will play their final regular season match on Saturday, April 13 when Xavier visits XS Tennis Village. First serve is set for 11 a.m. CT. DePaul will honor its senior class of Greta Carbone, Emily Casati, Yulliya Kizelbasheva and Mayya Perova prior to the match. Â
