Hannah Smith, Eleanor Nobbs Collect All-BIG EAST Honors

Blue Demon duo earns all-league accolades
CHICAGO – CHICAGO – DePaul's Hannah Smith and Eleanor Nobbs earned All-BIG EAST tennis honors the conference announced on Thursday morning. Smith landed on the First Team while Nobbs was voted to the Second Team as both Blue Demons picked up all-league accolades for the first time in their collegiate careers.
Xavier's Imani Graham repeated as BIG EAST Player of the Year while Emily Novikov of Georgetown took home Freshman of the Year. The Musketeers staff was selected Coaching Staff of the Year. All awards were voted on by the league's 11 head coaches who were not permitted to vote for their own student-athletes.
Smith posted an 8-9 record at No. 1 singles in 2024 including a 2-2 mark against league programs. The Silchester, England native went 13-5 at No. 1 doubles alongside teammate Greta Carbone. The duo was selected Doubles Team of the Week on one occasion while Smith also claimed Singles Player of the Week on Feb. 12. The sophomore is the lone underclassmen on the six-person First Team and just one of two across both teams.
Nobbs shined at No. 2, going 11-10 on the dual season while amassing a 4-2 record versus BIG EAST competition. The junior won two of three singles matches at the 2024 BIG EAST Tournament including the clincher in a 4-0 win against St. John's to send the Blue Demons to the championship match. In doubles action, the Bath, England native compiled an 8-5 mark on court three including a three-match win streak to close the season with partner Mayya Perova. Nobbs claimed BIG EAST Singles Player of the Week recognition on Feb. 26.
DePaul (17-8) advanced to the BIG EAST title match for the 11th time in program history including the ninth time in last 10 tournaments. The Blue Demons' 17 wins on the season is the most in Marisa Arce's five-year tenure. The BIG EAST finalists went 7-1 at home and 7-1 against conference opponents in 2024.
