Brown to compete in 110m hurdles Monday evening
EUGENE, ORE. – DePaul junior Darius Brown is set to compete in his first Olympic Trials in Eugene, Ore. Brown will run in the men's 110m hurdles on Monday, June 24, 2024 at 7:05 p.m. CT.
The men's 110mH prelims feature four heats where the top six in each heat and the next fastest three times will qualify to semifinals. The semifinals are set to take place Thursday, June 27. Brown is the one of youngest competitors in the 36-athlete 110mH field.
Brown is coming off a stellar junior season where he became the first two-time All-American at DePaul since Carey Ryan did so in 2001 and 2002. He earned First Team All-America honors at the NCAA Indoor Championships in the 60mH with a seventh-place finish, and recently concluded his collegiate season with Second Team All-American honors at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the 100mH. Brown is also only the third Blue Demon to earn All-America honors in both outdoor and indoor events, joining DePaul head coach Dave Dopek and Ryan.
He is the current school record holder in five events, including the outdoor 110mH where he broke his own record three times over the last season. During the indoor season, Brown broke the 60mH record over six times before running a 7.63 at the BIG EAST Indoor Championships, setting a Championship record in the event.
Brown racked up three individual conference titles this season in the indoor 60mH and outdoor 110mH and 400mH, earning the BIG EAST Outdoor Most Outstanding Performer Award.
