Women’s Soccer Announces 2024 Signing Class

Ten signees join the Blue Demons in late July
CHICAGO – DePaul women's soccer head coach Michele O'Brien officially announced the 2024 recruiting class on Wednesday afternoon. Ten freshmen will join the team later this month ahead of their first game in August.
"I am really excited to introduce this group of newcomers," said head coach O'Brien. "They each have a unique background and possess special qualities that will have an immediate impact on our program. Our current group is extremely motivated, ready to get going, and are looking forward to welcoming all ten of them to our team."
Nora Åsbrink - Uppsala, Sweden - Center Back
Asbrink comes to Chicago from Sweden, where she most recently played for FC Djursholm. Additionally, she played on a regional district team, Uppland FF, from 2021 to 2022. She was a team captain in both seasons with Uppland FF.
Fabienne Doerig - St. Gallen, Switzerland - Midfielder
Doerig, who hails from St. Gallen, Switzerland, joins the Blue Demons with a significant amount of experience. From 2021-2024, she played for FC St. Gallen Frauen, a team in the Swiss Women's Super League. In her last season with the club, Doerig scored four goals in 17 games.
Katelyn Jamie - Fort Thomas, Ky. - Forward
An incoming freshman from the Cincinnati Tri-State area, Jamie played for the Cincinnati United Premier Girls Academy from 2020-2024. En route to earning All-State First Team and All-Region First Team her junior year, she scored an impressive 17 goals.
Sophia Musial - Elmhurst, Ill. - Forward
Musial comes to DePaul from York Community High School in nearby Elmhurst, Ill. where she earned Chicagoland Soccer All-State and an All-Conference selection. She capped off her ten-year run with Sockers FC by scoring 23 times in her final three seasons.
Nicole Nordness - Menomonee Falls, Wis. - Defender
Nordness joins the Blue Demons from the Milwaukee area, having played for FC Wisconsin and North Shore United for a total of 14 years. She aims to continue her family's legacy at DePaul, following in the footsteps of her older sisters, Kylie and Maria, who both played soccer for the university.
Ella Rentz - South Lyon, Mich. - Attacking Midfielder
Rentz played for Michigan Jaguars FC from 2014 to 2024 and was coached by Mike Scobie, Trisha Wellock, and Derrick Smith. The attacking midfielder comes to Chicago from the Detroit suburb, South Lyon, Mich.
Tewabech Seerup - Portage, Ind. - Midfielder
Seerup played at Indiana Fire Academy from 2018 to 2024 and Eclipse from 2015 to 2018, totaling ten years of club experience, in addition to her team at Chesterton High School. In 2021, she was honored as ECNL Girls Ohio Valley Second Team All-Conference.
Alexandra Valiotis - Troy, Mich. - Defender/Midfielder
A club soccer national finalist, Valiotis makes the move to Lincoln Park from Troy, Mich. She played travel soccer for Nationals 06 GA Blue from 2021 to 2024 and Hawks 06 ECNL from 2018 to 2021.
Mia Veldman - South Bend, Ind. - Midfielder
Veldman played varsity soccer at St. Joseph's High School and earned First Team recognitions for All-State, All-Region, All-District, and All-Conference. She also spent five seasons with Indy Premier from 2019 to 2024.
Kate Weber - Valparaiso, Ind. - Center Back
Weber joins DePaul for the 2024 campaign with a plethora of high school recognitions, including Duneland Conference MVP and First Team All-State. In four years of high school competition, she totaled 36 goals and 18 assists. She also played for Three Lions United from 2013 to 2018 and Indy Eleven Pro Academy ECNL from 2018 to 2024.
