Cudiamat logs first double-double of season
Peoria, Ill. – DePaul volleyball defeated St. Thomas, 3-0 (25-21, 25-18, 25-21), Saturday afternoon, earning a sweep in their second game of the season.
The outing was a strong defensive showing for the Blue Demons (2-0), with four players recording double-figure digs. Senior libero Rachel Krasowski contributed a team-high 25 digs, while sophomore Nora Mannion added 14 of her own.
Graduate student Jill Pressly was active on both sides of the ball, tabbing 13 kills and 10 digs for her second double-double of the season. Senior Ashley Cudiamat also notched a double-double with a team-high 20 assists and 10 digs. Freshman Amanda Saeger tallied 14 assists on the day.
The Blue Demons recorded 8 service aces, including three from freshman Luisa Juncu, and two from senior Aly Kindelberger.
"It's our second match of the year, so everyone is getting used to how to apply our systems," said head coach Marie Zidek.
"Phenomenal effort by our ball control and setting units getting everyone involved offensively. Key points at key times by everyone helped hold momentum, and it was a nice way to finish our afternoon with everyone contributing."
The Tommies (0-3) were led by eight kills from senior Lauren Galvin.
