Blue Demons Release 2024 Fall Tournament Slate

DePaul to travel for seven fall tournaments
CHICAGO – DePaul men's tennis head coach Matt Brothers officially announced the Blue Demons' 2024 fall tournament schedule, Thursday evening. DePaul will compete in seven tournaments this fall, facing a variety of Division I programs, players, and visiting facilities across the country.
The Blue Demons kicked off their first fall tournament at the River Forest Collegiate Tennis Invitational, Sept. 13-14, hosted by Northern Illinois. The new-look "Band of Brothers" debuted in River Forest, Ill., with six of the seven Blue Demons securing first place in their respective singles draws. Tobias Leitner, Andy Hadziabdic, and Quang Vinh Nguyen also made their DePaul debuts last weekend.
DePaul looks to continue its success at the WMU/Vredevelt Invitational, slated for Sept. 20-21, in Kalamazoo, Mich. Matches will begin at the Sorensen Courts at 8 a.m. CT on both days, with free admission for all fans. Butler, Cleveland State, DePaul, Notre Dame, Western Michigan, and Youngstown State will each be represented in Kalamazoo. Friday's schedule includes one round of doubles and two rounds of singles, while Saturday will feature two rounds of doubles and one round of singles.
In their third tournament, DePaul will send athletes to the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla., from Sept. 21 through Sept. 29. Matches will take place at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center, where ten singles players will qualify for the NCAA Singles Championships and four doubles teams will qualify for the NCAA Doubles Championships.
The Blue Demons return to the lakefront for the 48th Milwaukee Tennis Classic, Sept. 27-30. The event will take place at two separate venues, the Western Racquet Club in Elm Grove, Wisc., and the Nicolet Tennis Center in Glendale, Wisc.
DePaul begins its October slate in East Lansing, Mich., at the ITA Midwest Regional, marking its second ITA event of the fall. The "Band of Brothers" will compete in the ITA Midwest Regional event from Oct. 10-14.
The Blue Demons will participate in their only ITF-sanctioned event this fall when they head to Winston-Salem, N.C., for the M15 USTA Futures from Oct. 14-20.
Rounding out DePaul's fall schedule is the Notre Dame Invitational on Nov. 1-2. The Blue Demons last participated in this event in 2023, where senior Jona Gitschel picked up victories in both singles and doubles.
