
Men’s Tennis Readies for Milwaukee Tennis Classic

Four Blue Demons represent DePaul at tournament
ELM GROVE, Wisc. – DePaul men's tennis heads north for the 48th edition of the Milwaukee Tennis Classic from Friday, Sept. 27 to Sunday, Sept. 29, with action beginning each day at 9 a.m. CT.
This weekend, the men's singles and doubles events will take place at the Western Racquet Club in Elm Grove, Wisc., while the women's singles, doubles, and mixed doubles events will be held at the Nicolet Tennis Center in nearby Glendale, Wisc.
Twelve schools will compete in the men's events at the MTC, including DePaul, Illinois, Marquette, Michigan State, Navy, Nebraska, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Pepperdine, Western Michigan, and Wisconsin.
Representing the Blue Demons at the Milwaukee Tennis Classic are Matteo Iaquinto, Tobias Leitner, Pablo Torres Almeida, and Quang Vinh Nguyen. The doubles pairings for the weekend are Torres Almeida/Vinh Nguyen and Iaquinto/Leitner.
Former DePaul men's tennis star and BIG EAST Player of the Year Filip Dzanko won the Milwaukee Tennis Classic in 2012. He graduated from DePaul in 2014, finishing his career with 87 singles victories and 70 doubles wins.

Tournament Format: The tournament features a 32-player draw for singles competition, and a 16-team draw for doubles. The main draw singles matches will be played as best-of-three sets with no-ad scoring, and new balls will be used for each set. Consolation singles matches will consist of two sets, with a 10-point tiebreak in lieu of a third set, and no-ad scoring. All doubles matches will be played as a 6-game set with a tiebreak at 6-all and no-ad scoring.
