Four Blue Demons score as Blue Demons run past Raiders
Â
Freshman midfielders Max Padua and Jayden Waski scored their first collegiate goals, while sophomores Noeh Hernandez and Liam Mullins posted three points apiece with a goal to go with an assist late in the second half.
Â
DePaul (2-2-1) held an overwhelming 14-6 advantage in shots including a 4-2 edge in shots on target and 9-1 in corner kick opportunities.
Â
How it Happened
DePaul's first chance of the day came in the 14th minute when Mullins was awarded a free kick outside the box, playing the ball deep into the defense but came up empty on the possession.
Â
A fruitful through pass was played to the left side, ending up with Padua taking the Blue Demons' first shot of the game. The ball landed through the defense and was later cleared to midfield by the Raiders line of defense.
Â
Wright State connected on their first goal in the 31st minute, giving the Raiders an early 1-0 advantage.
Â
The Blue Demons kept on in their pursuit of an equalizer resulting in additional chances including a missed shot from Julian Saldana in the 35th minute that sailed just over the crossbar. Â
Â
In the second half, the Blue Demons picked up the pressure quickly. Hernandez, subbed on at the intermission, took a rip at the goal early, landing just left of the cage giving DePaul a spark in the early going.
Â
In the 54th minute, Padua found himself in the right place at the right time, hitting an intended clearance from the top of the box and finding the back of the net on an unbalanced finish. Padua's goal equalized the match 1-1 and opened the floodgates for the Blue Demon attack.

Shortly after, in the 66th minute, Waski deposited a goal of his own just inside the near post to give the Blue Demons a 2-1 lead. Junior center back George Wyatt was credited the assist on a beauty of a ball delivered across the field from behind the half line.

In the 83rd minute, Hernandez put away a screamer with his patented left foot finish from outside of the box to all but seal the deal.
