DePaul takes to the road for the third time in last five games
WASHINGTON D.C. – After facing its fourth overtime contest of the season, DePaul men's basketball returns to action Friday evening at Georgetown. The game is slated for a 7 p.m. CT tip from Capital One Arena with Dave Ryan and Steve Lappas on the call for CBS Sports Network. Zach Zaidman and Dave Corzine will have the radio broadcast on Sirius XM and DePaul Blue Demons App.
LAST TIME OUT
DePaul (9-9, 0-7 BIG EAST) took #7 Marquette down to the wire in an overtime 85-83 loss to the Golden Eagles. It was DePaul's first overtime game against a top-10 team since 1999 and first in the series against Marquette since 2014. As a team, DePaul recorded 22 assists marking the most for the Blue Demons in a conference game since 2019.
The Blue Demons had five total players reach double-digits, including two in 20+ performances from CJ Gunn and Isaiah Rivera. Conor Enright recorded his first career double-double with 11 points and 11 assists.
THE SERIES
Georgetown leads the all-time series 35-14, including an 18-5 advantage in games played in D.C. Georgetown has won the last three-straight, with DePaul winning four in a row in the series before that. The last eight games in the series have all been decided by less than eight points.
SCOUTING GEORGETOWN
Georgetown (12-5, 3-3 BIG EAST) enters the game following three-straight BIG EAST losses to Marquette, UConn and St. John's. Before that the Hoyas had opened conference play 3-0 against Creighton, Seton Hall and Xavier. Freshmen Thomas Sorber is Georgetown's leading scorer with 14.2 points and 8.6 rebounds per game.
Ed Cooley is in his second season leading the program, already surpassing last year's win total. As a team, the Hoyas rely on their defense. The team leads the BIG EAST and ranks 24th nationally, holding opponents to 63.9 points per game and 38.2 percent shooting.
