Kendall Timme and Amanda Saeger Add BIG EAST Honors

Timme DePaul's third BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
CHICAGO – DePaul volleyball student-athletes Kendall Timme and Amanda Saeger earned BIG EAST weekly honors, as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon. Timme was named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week, her second award this season, while Saeger was tabbed to the BIG EAST Honor Roll, the first league recognition of her career. Timme is the third DePaul freshman to earn BIG EAST Freshman of the Week accolades, alongside teammates Morgan Stewart and Eva Hurrle.
Timme added 14 kills against St. John's on .481 hitting, her most efficient match this season. She continues to rank amongst the top attackers in the BIG EAST, tied for third in league matches with 4.05 kills per set. The Richardson, Texas, native also registered career-highs in both blocks (five) and service aces (four) in the victory over the Red Storm.
Against Seton Hall the following day, the freshman excelled on both sides of the ball, recording a career-high and team-best 19 digs in the five-set win over the Pirates. She also notched 17 kills, representing her eighth consecutive match in double figures, and fourth double-double.
Saeger organized the DePaul offense in both weekend matches, tallying 37 assists at St. John's, before exploding for a career-high 58 assists against the Pirates. In the win over Seton Hall, the sophomore posted ten digs, achieving her second double-double of the season. She also added four blocks, three kills and a service ace over the pair of matches.
UP NEXT
The Blue Demons return home this weekend for another pair of BIG EAST matches, hosting Butler and Xavier. First serve against the Bulldogs is set for 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 17, while the match against the Musketeers is slated to commence at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18.
