Blue Demons make trip back to South Bend
SOUTH BEND, Ind. – DePaul cross country travels back to South Bend, Ind. to compete in the historic Joe Piane Invitational on Friday, Oct. 3. Both the women's and men's runners will be placed in the gold division, with the women's 5k race set to start at 11:50 a.m. CT and the men's 8k race at 12:30 p.m. CT, taking place at the Burke Cross Country Course.
Cross country makes its return to South Bend fresh off a pair of top-four finishes in the men's 8k and women's 5k at Notre Dame's National Catholic Championships. Breakout sophomore Mohamed Abdullahi headlined the men's runners, finishing 14th and setting a personal best by over a minute in the 8k. Fellow sophomore Tessa Roe also notched an individual record, running the women's 5k in 17:38.00 and placing 14th. The Blue Demons continue to show improvement, with 18 racers recording personal bests in their respective races at Notre Dame on Sept. 19.
