INDIANAPOLIS, IND. – Behind 16 kills from freshman Kendall Timme, DePaul volleyball closed out its regular-season Sunday afternoon with a 3-1 road win against Butler. The Blue Demons hit .300 as a team on the way to the road victory to finish with a 14-13 record and 7-9 in BIG EAST play. It marks the fifth winning season in the last six years for the Blue Demons.
"Incredible, gutsy and gritty way for us to finish" said head coach Marie Zidek. "This team had to dig deep to battle today. They found some parts of themselves that allowed us to finish on a high note for our seniors and to send a message to the rest of the league that DePaul will not quit. It was a really nice way to finish."
Jade Dudley-Epps hit .500 on the day with 13 kills and nine blocks, while also contributing five digs. In addition to Timme, Katelynn Oxley rounded out a trio of players with 10 or more kills, contributing 10 at a .455 clip in addition to seven blocks and three assists. Abby Cahill led DePaul with 22 digs, while Amanda Saeger tallied 33 assists in the four sets. Morgan Stewart also contributed eight kills, five digs and two service aces.
