Timme becomes first freshman of the year in program history
CHICAGO – Kendall Timme from DePaul volleyball was announced Friday as the BIG EAST Co-Freshman of the Year, making her the first conference freshman of the year in program history. Timme also earned All-BIG EAST honors and was a unanimous selection to the All-Freshman team. She shares the Freshman of the Year honor with Marquette's Isabela Haggard.
It marks the second major award winner for the Blue Demons in their history as a part of the BIG EAST, following Rachel Krasowski's Libero of the Year Award in 2024. Timme is the third DePaul player to earn All-Freshman honors and the 18th All-BIG EAST recipient. She is the first Blue Demon to earn All-BIG EAST accolades as a freshman. This year marks the fifth-straight season with an All-Conference player under the Blue Demons.
In her debut season, Timme powered DePaul's offense and led the league's rookies in kills (3.29/set), points (4.01/set) and aces (0.45/set). Timme totaled 19 matches with double-digit kills and two 20+ kill outings.
Additionally, she averaged 2.53 digs and 0.50 blocks per set while appearing in all 58 conference sets for the Blue Demons. Timme was recognized as the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 29 and BIG EAST Freshman of the Week on Oct. 13.
