Blue Demons Close Out Homestand Against Loyola Chicago

Demon Doings
The Blue Demons look to bounce back after a dropping a tightly-contested matchup with Northern Colorado Saturday night in which the visiting Bears took home a 61-60 win with a pair of baskets in the final 14 seconds.
Junior guard Kate Novik continues to pace the Blue Demons in multiple phases including team-highs in points (16.5 ppg), assists (3.6 apg), blocks (1.5 bpg) and three-point field goal percentage (.429). Novik's scoring average is fifth among BIG EAST players through the first three weeks of the season. Natiah Nelson has opened her sophomore campaign on a tear averaging 12.7 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.0 steals per game in addition to 59-percent shooting from the field.
As a team, the Blue Demons have forced 20 or more opponent turnovers in five of six games this season and rank second in the nation with an average of 23.3 forced per game. In three games last week, DePaul totaled 64 assists on 77 made field goals for an 83-percent assist rate. The Blue Demons average 19.5 assists per game which is 22nd in Division I.
Scouting Loyola
The Ramblers are 1-5 on the season and are on a five-game skid with their lone win coming in the season opener versus Milwaukee. Freshman Alex-Anne Bessette is averaging a team-high 9.7 points per game with sophomore Brooklyn Vaughn following closely behind with 9.5 points and a team-best 6.5 rebounds per contest. Allison Guth is in her fourth season leading the Ramblers program.
Series Stuff
The Blue Demons own an overwhelming 46-10 advantage over Loyola in the all-time series. In games played at home, DePaul is 24-4 and hasn't dropped a meeting since 2015.
A season ago, DePaul prevailed over the Ramblers with a 75-60 victory in Rogers Park. Jorie Allen and Meg Newman recorded 16 points apiece to lead the Blue Demons.
