Blue Demons and Rebels tipoff at 4 p.m. CT in Las Vegas
LAS VEGAS – DePaul women's basketball returns to the court Sunday Nov. 9 with a trip to Las Vegas to take on UNLV. Tipoff from Cox Pavilion is set for 4 p.m. CT/ 2 p.m. PT with the contest streamed on Mountain West Network.
Demon Doings
DePaul won its fifth-straight season opener Tuesday night with a 92-54 victory over Valparaiso. Redshirt-freshman Ally Timm returned to the court with a vengeance, netting a career-best 28 points powered by an 8-for-10 performance from behind the arc. Junior guard Kate Novik added 19 points and six assists in her DePaul debut while sophomore Natiah Nelson collected her the first double-double of her career with 13 points and 15 rebounds.
The Blue Demons' defensive pressure forced 35 Valparaiso turnovers Tuesday night to tie the program's single-game Wintrust Arena record while turning the miscues into 28 points. Four different Blue Demons collected three of more steals as Alayna West led the charge with five her own as the team totaled 21 on the night.
Six players made their DePaul debut on Tuesday and each of them made at least one field goal.
Scouting UNLV
The Rebels are 1-0 after a season-opening 64-51 win against Washington State Wednesday evening. Three players finished in double figures led by Aaliyah Alexander's 18 points. Redshirt-sophomore Meadow Roland, the 2025 Mountain West and Sixth Player of the Year, added 17 points and nine rebounds on the inside. The Rebels went 24-for-29 from the free throw line.
Lindy La Rocque is in her sixth season at the helm of the program and has led the Rebels to four-straight Mountain West regular-season titles.
Series Stuff
Sunday's matchup will be the fifth between the two programs and serves as the second game in the home-and-home agreement began in 2024-25. The all-time series is tied 2-2 with the Rebels taking last season's meeting 81-60 at Wintrust Arena.
The two sides have split the pair of meetings in Sin City with DePaul victorious in its last trip in December of 2009.
