Blue Demons Visit UIC Wednesday in Non-Conference Finale

CHICAGO – DePaul women's basketball closes out its non-conference slate Wednesday evening with the short trip to crosstown foe UIC. Tipoff from Credit Union 1 Arena is set for 7 p.m. with the game broadcast on ESPN+ and regionally on Marquee Sports Network.
Demon Doings
The Blue Demons are in search of their first road victory of the season on Wednesday and will look to steady the course after facing a pair of ranked teams in their last three games.
Junior guard Kate Novik, fresh off a BIG EAST Honor Roll nod, leads DePaul in scoring (12.1 ppg) and rebounding (6.7 rpg) while also pacing the team in assists. Redshirt-freshman Alayna West adds a defensive spark on the perimeter, ranking among the conference leaders in steals with two takeaways per game. Natiah Nelson has provided an efficient presence inside, shooting a team-best 50-percent from the field this season.
DePaul remains ranked among the BIG EAST leaders in assists (17.0 per game) and turnover margin (+3.2), while also sitting in the top third in the league in steals per game (9.5) and turnovers forced (20.0).
Scouting UIC
The Flames are 5-5 on the year and are coming off a 61-44 victory in their Missouri Valley Conference opener last Sunday. Senior guard Jessica Carrothers leads three players averaging double figures with 17.2 points per game. Julia Coleman paces the pack on the glass with a team-high 6.8 rebounds per game. Ashleen Bracey is in her fourth season leading the UIC program.
Series Stuff
Wednesday's matchup is the 44th meeting between the two programs with DePaul owning 38-5 advantage against the Flames. The Blue Demons have won 36-consecutive games in the series including a 73-56 victory at Wintrust Arena last season.
