Blue Demons face second-straight top-25 opponent
CHICAGO – After a road-stint, DePaul men's basketball returns home to face its second-straight ranked opponent in #5 UConn, Sunday, Dec. 21 at Wintrust Arena. The game tips off at 3:30 p.m. on FS1 with Chris Vosters and Nick Bahe on the call. Zach Zaidman and Dave Corzine will have the DePaul radio broadcast on Sirius XM and the DePaul Blue Demons app.
The game features two teams with some of the most returning production in the BIG EAST, as DePaul and UConn are the only schools in the conference to return multiple of its top-four scorers from the 2024-25 season.
LAST TIME OUT
DePaul (8-4, 0-1 BIG EAST) had a hard-fought battle against No. 22 St. John's in the Blue Demons BIG EAST opener, ultimately falling, 79-66 to the Johnnies. Kaleb Banks had his first double-double of the season behind 19 points and 10 rebounds, while three other Blue Demons registered double-digit scoring. DePaul held St. John's, one of the nation's top offensive rebounding team, to its fewest second-chance points of the season.
THE SERIES
UConn leads the all-time series 21-1, with DePaul's lone victory coming back in 2007 at Allstate Arena. The last meeting between the two programs took place in Hartford, Jan. 29, 2025 in a narrow 72-61 victory for the Huskies.
SCOUTING UCONN
UConn (11-1, 1-0 BIG EAST) enters Sunday's contest behind seven-straight wins, including a 79-60 defeat of Butler in the Huskies conference opener Tuesday. The team's lone loss on the season came at the hands of current-No. 1 ranked Arizona on Nov. 19, 71-67.

UConn ranks sixth nationally in scoring defense, holding its opponents to an average of 61.7 points per game and 37.2 percent field goal shooting.
