Blue Demons Host Wildcats Wednesday Night

DePaul looks for back-to-back wins
CHICAGO – Following a Sunday night victory, DePaul men's basketball quickly turns its attention to a midweek tilt against Villanova. The game is set for a Wednesday, Feb. 5 tip at 8 p.m. from Wintrust Arena. Andrew Catalon and Steve Lappas will have the television call on CBS Sports Network while Zach Zaidman and Dave Corzine will have DePaul's radio broadcast on Sirius XM and DePaulBlueDemons.com.
LAST TIME OUT
DePaul (11-2, 2-10 BIG EAST) picked up a 17-point BIG EAST win against Seton Hall, 74-57, on Sunday. The win marked the Blue Demons biggest win against a conference opponent since 2019 as DePaul also tallied a season-high 55.3 field goal percentage.
NJ Benson led the team with his third double-double of the season with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Benson is averaging 11.7 points, 8.2 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game while shooting 62.6 percent across his last 11 games.
Against the Pirates, DePaul registered nine three-pointers as a team to bring their season total to 226 three-pointers, which sits as the fifth most all-time in a single-season.
THE SERIES
Villanova controls the all-time series with a 36-9 advantage, including the last five meetings between the two teams. DePaul last defeated the Wildcats at home on Jan. 10, 2023. Villanova won the first meeting earlier this season between the two programs, 100-56.
SCOUTING VILLANOVA
Villanova (12-10, 5-6 BIG EAST) comes into Wednesday's game looking to snap a three-game skid against Georgetown, Marquette and Creighton. The Wildcats are 1-5 on the road this season with their lone victory coming at Butler to kick off the new year.
Villanova's Eric Dixon is the nation's leading scorer with 24.2 points per game. He also ranks eighth nationally with a 45.3 three-point percentage and is and 84.3 percent free throw shooter. In addition to Dixon, Wooga Poplar, Jordan Longino and Jhamir Brickus are all averaging double-digits for the Wildcats.
