Men’s Tennis Set for Non-Conference Tilt in Charlotte

DePaul takes on Davidson and UNC Charlotte in weekend doubleheader
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – DePaul men's tennis heads to Charlotte, N.C., March 8-9 to take on Davidson (6-5) and UNC Charlotte (5-5). The Blue Demons open play at the Davidson Tennis Courts on Saturday at 9 a.m. CT, then travel roughly 20 miles south to face the 49ers at the Halton-Wagner Tennis Complex on Sunday at 12 p.m. CT.
After splitting matches in Cleveland, Ohio, the Blue Demons (8-6, 1-0 BIG EAST) enter the weekend with momentum, winning four of their last five contests. While DePaul recently dropped out of the rankings, its consecutive weeks in the top 75 marked the first time since March 2012 that the program achieved this feat. DePaul was recently ranked No. 61 in the ITA Top 75 (Feb. 21) and No. 72 (Feb. 25).
After an unbeaten weekend in Cleveland at No. 1, senior Matteo Iaquinto earned BIG EAST Men's Singles Player of the Week on Monday afternoon. The Palermo, Italy, native secured two straight-set wins at the No. 1 court, extending his win streak to four matches and continuing to build on his strong form at the top spot.
