CHICAGO – DePaul men's basketball added its latest addition Tuesday afternoon, in 6-5 guard Brandon Maclin. Maclin joins the Blue Demons following a season at Radford where he helped the Highlanders to the Big South Tournament semifinals.
"Brandon is a versatile wing guard who brings high level toughness, versatility and competitiveness," said head coach Chris Holtmann. "He was top three in scoring, assists and rebounds on a 20-win team this last season. Brandon has the size and dimensions to play multiple positions in the BIG EAST and we are really excited about adding him to the team."
This season, Maclin appeared in 32 games with 26 starts where he was the team's second leading scorer with 10 points per game and had a team-high 71 assists. He also ranked third with 4.3 rebounds per game, all while shooting 34.3 percent from three-point range. Maclin also recorded 79 free throws at a 71.8 percent clip. He had a total of 13 games in double-digit scoring and three 20+ performances.
His career-best performance came against Saint Francis where he stuffed the stat sheet with 22 points on 7-of-11 shooting with six made three-pointers. The Jackson, Tenn. native also added four rebounds, two steals and two blocks.
Maclin began his career at Odessa College where he played two seasons. In 2023-24, he averaged 11.9 points per game while shooting 45.5 percent from the floor. Maclin helped lead the Wranglers to the 2024 JUCO National Tournament quarterfinals and was ranked one of the top-50 JUCO prospects. Prior to college, Maclin attended Jackson Southside High School and Florida Coastal Prep.
