Hudak Sets Record, Distance Runners Shine at Bryan Clay Invitational

Blue Demons take races late into evening in Azusa, Calif.
AZUSA, Calif. – In a meet day that spanned more than 16 hours at Azusa Pacific University, DePaul track and field delivered outstanding performances, including a school record in the men's 800m and two top-three all-time finishes in the women's 5000m. The Blue Demons opened competition at 9:00 a.m. Central Time with Mason Krieg in the men's 5000m and wrapped up just after midnight with Nina Amicon in the women's 5000m invite section.
Dustin Hudak continued his impressive campaign by clocking a 1:48.03 in the men's 800m elite section, finishing 11th overall and lowering his own school record set just one week earlier.
In the women's 5000m, Nina Amicon and Tessa Roe turned in standout performances in their collegiate debuts at the distance. Amicon raced to a time of 16:22.44 in the invite section, moving into second all-time in DePaul history. Earlier in the evening, Roe posted a 16:24.62 in the open section to take over the third spot on the program's all-time list.
Earlier in the day, Mason Krieg opened DePaul's competition slate with a personal-best time of 14:29.69 in the men's 5000m open section, placing 36th overall.
