Trio of Blue Demons in Top 25 After Day One

OKATIE, S.C. – Through the first day of the BIG EAST Golf Championships, three Blue Demons sit in the top 25 at Callawassie Island Golf Course. Rohan Gopaldas and Pablo Riveiro led the way through the first round for the Blue Demons, both tallying a 73 (+1) to sit in a tie for 17th. Gopaldas started his day hot, recording two birdies in his first five holes. Riveiro sunk two birdie putts of his own on a bogey free front nine.

Dominic Lucchesi finished day one firing a 74 (+2). Like Riveiro, Lucchesi went bogey free on the front nine for a 25th place finish through the first 18. Ryder Henares was the final scorer for DePaul with a 77 (+5), while Hank Schaefer concluded the first round with a score of 82 (+10).

DePaul will return to action for the second round of the event tomorrow, Sunday, April 27.
