Allen finishes career as DePaul’s all-time best in the shot put
COLLEGE STATION, Texas – In a season that saw her rise to the top of DePaul's all-time shot put list, Kash Allen concluded her collegiate career on Thursday evening at the NCAA West Preliminary Rounds.
After fouling her first attempt, Allen rebounded with a 15.49m throw on her second in the women's shot put. She closed out her performance with a 16.03m mark on her final attempt, good enough to place second overall through the first two of four flights. The distance came just 70 millimeters shy of her personal best and the DePaul program record.
As the final two flights unfolded, stronger marks pushed Allen just outside the top 12 needed to qualify for the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Oreg. However, her climb should not be overlooked. Allen entered the Preliminary Rounds ranked 34th in the West Region and jumped 15 spots to finish 19th, ending her career as one of the top 50 shot putters in the nation.
The list speaks for itself: three NACC titles, two First Team All-America honors, two national runner-up finishes, three BIG EAST championships, two NCAA West Preliminary appearances, and shot put records at both Benedictine and DePaul. Allen excelled at every level, leaving behind a standard few can match and a career defined by consistency and resilience.
