Four-time All-American enters final races of DePaul career in 110m hurdles
EUGENE, Ore. – DePaul track and field's Darius Brown will compete in the men's 110m hurdles at the 2025 USATF Outdoor Championships, returning to Hayward Field in Eugene with a chance to qualify for the World Championships in Tokyo, Japan, later this fall. His first-round heat is set for Saturday, Aug. 2, at 2:14 p.m. CT on USATF.TV.
The top two finishers from each heat and the next fastest times will qualify for Sunday's semifinals at 2:55 p.m. CT, with the top athletes from those races moving on to the final later that afternoon at 4:54 p.m. CT. Both races can be followed on USATF.TV and NBC/Peacock, and will mark the final races of Brown's DePaul career.
A 2024 DePaul graduate, Brown closed his collegiate career in June with a sixth-place finish at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, running 13.50 in the final to secure his fourth All-America honor and his second First Team selection. The Louisville, Ky., native became just the third athlete in program history to earn multiple First Team All-America honors, joining Dave Dopek and Carey Ryan, and the first in DePaul history to collect four total All-America nods in track and field.
Brown advanced to the NCAA final with a 13.40 in the semifinals, placing third in his heat to move on by time, after breaking his own school record with a 13.37 at the NCAA West Preliminary Rounds in College Station, Texas. The 2025 outdoor season added to his legacy as the program's all-time record holder in both the 110m hurdles and 4x100m relay, along with multiple conference titles.
This weekend's meet continues a tradition of summer racing at Hayward Field for Brown, who reached the semifinals at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Trials and competed at the 2023 USATF Outdoor Championships.
