Women’s Soccer Welcomes Nine Newcomers to Lincoln Park

Six freshmen and three transfers join Blue Demons for fall campaign
CHICAGO – DePaul women's soccer head coach Michele O'Brien officially announced the 2025 signing class ahead of the Blue Demons' fall campaign, Monday evening. Six incoming freshmen and three transfers joined the team today in preparation for their first exhibition match at Wish Field on Aug. 5.
"Our staff is really excited to welcome nine new additions to the team this fall," said O'Brien. "The six incoming freshmen and three transfers will bring fresh energy to an already strong group of returners. Each newcomer offers something unique, and we're looking forward to their contributions both on and off the field. Our returners are eager to welcome them, and our staff is excited to coach them and get to know them as both people and players.
Addison Mahaney - Palm Harbor, Fla. - Freshman
A four-year varsity starter, Mahaney split her high school career between McDonogh School and Palm Harbor University, earning First Team PCAC All-Conference honors as a senior. She competed in ECNL Playoffs with both Maryland United and Florida Premier, helping the latter capture the 2024 ECNL Southeast Conference title.
Marin Stamper - Denver, Colo. - Junior
Before arriving in Lincoln Park, Stamper spent two seasons at Boise State, making 12 total appearances. At Cherry Creek High School, she was named a team captain and earned All-Conference First Team and Academic All-State honors. Her club background includes Colorado Rapids ECNL and PSD Rush.
Sienna Gonzales - Tucson, Ariz. - Senior
Gonzales brings collegiate experience from both SMU and, most recently, Idaho, where she played in all 20 matches during the 2024 season and finished third on the team in points with 4 goals and 3 assists. A four-year starter at Salpointe Catholic, she led her squad to three championships and earned Arizona 4A First Team All-State honors.
Kareena Wardlow - Columbus, Ohio - Freshman
A four-year varsity starter at Olentangy High School, Wardlow set the program's all-time assist record and served as a team captain. She earned All-Conference and All-District recognition in soccer while also excelling in track. Her club team, Ohio Premier, went undefeated in the 2024–25 regular season and won the ECNL Ohio Valley Conference title.
Sierra Bennett - Erie, Colo. - Freshman
With four varsity letters at Prospect Ridge Academy, Bennett was named Colorado 3A All-State in both 2024 and 2025 and helped her team reach the Great Eight in four straight seasons. She played club soccer for Colorado Rapids and was selected as team captain her senior year.
Sydney Goodman - Lake Orion, Mich. - Freshman
Goodman recorded 10 goals and 10 assists in 10 matches during her senior year at Lake Orion High School, helping secure an OAA White Conference title. At the club level, she spent 11 years with Nationals Blue ECNL and was part of the 2024 Girls Academy National Championship finalist squad.
Avery Splear - Glenview, Ill. - Freshman
A captain at Glenbrook South, Splear earned All-Sectional and All-Academic recognition while anchoring the back line in her senior season. She competed for Chicago FC United from 2017 to 2025 and helped lead the squad to a 20-0-3 record with 12 clean sheets during her final campaign.
Sydnee Maxwell - Zanesville, Ohio - Freshman
Maxwell capped off her high school career at Bishop Rosecrans with 123 goals and 34 assists, earning First Team All-Ohio and District Player of the Year honors in three consecutive seasons. She played her club soccer for Ohio Premier, helping secure the 2024-25 ECNL Ohio Valley Conference championship.
Jericho Frigon - Liberty, Mo. - Senior
A transfer from Kansas State, Frigon spent three seasons with the Wildcats and earned Academic All-Big 12 honors. At Liberty High School, she started every game across multiple years, scoring 36 goals and collecting numerous All-State honors. Her club career included stints with FC Kansas City DA and Kansas City Athletics ECNL.
"As a group, we're highly motivated to build on the success we had last season, and we know these newcomers will play a key role in continuing that momentum," said Coach O'Brien.
