Experienced Serbian guard set to join DePaul for 2025-26 season
CHICAGO – DePaul men's basketball has officially announced the addition of an experienced international player in Ilija Milijašević. Milijašević joins DePaul after playing for Mega Superbet in the Adriatic League in Serbia. A 6-2 guard, Milijašević will join DePaul for the upcoming 2025-26 season.
"We are excited about the addition of Ilija," said head coach Chris Holtmann. "He is a player with excellent international experience who brings very good shooting, experience and defensive toughness. While only 6-2, his extremely quick release allows him to get his shot off against bigger defenders. Ilija played on an outstanding international team while there is always a transition, we think that level of play will help him as he transitions to BIG EAST basketball here at DePaul."
A Belgrade, Serbia native, Milijašević has also played for the Serbian National Team, most recently at the FIBA U20 Eurobasket event in 2024. During the event, he averaged 12.4 points, 3.7 assists and 2.9 rebounds per game. Milijašević also won a bronze medal with Serbia at the U18 European Championships in 2022.
Milijašević shot nearly 45 percent from three for Mega Superbet this season, after previously spending a season with Spartak Subotica and four seasons with Dynamic.
