
Cross Country Introduces 14 New Distance Athletes

Blue Demons set to debut new class at next week’s season opener
CHICAGO – Head Cross Country Coach Geoff Wayton unveiled the program's 14 newcomers ahead of the 2025 fall season, Monday evening. The group features both freshmen and transfers, spanning the country and internationally, bringing a range of talent and experience to the roster.
Zoe Goodman - Freshman - Minneapolis, Minn.
Goodman comes to Lincoln Park after competing in both cross country and track at The Blake School. Her bests include 5:20 in the 1600m, 11:31 in the 3200m, and 18:54 in the 5k.
Trixie Johnson - Junior (Transfer) - Paxton, Ill.
A transfer from Illinois State, Johnson adds depth to the women's roster after beginning her career with the Redbirds. She prepped at Paxton-Buckley-Loda High School, where she was a multi-sport athlete.
Lucy McNally - Freshman - Chicago, Ill.
The Chicago native brings local talent to the squad after competing in both track and cross country for Lane Tech.
Kalina Urbaniak - Junior (Transfer) - Suchy Las, Poland
Originally from Poland, Urbaniak transfers to DePaul from Western Kentucky and provides valuable experience to the middle-distance group.
Hunter Bostwick - Freshman - Sewell, N.J.
Bostwick competed for Washington Township High School in New Jersey, contributing to both cross country and track programs.
Jack Broghammer - Freshman - Fairway, Kan.
A member of the 2023 Kansas state cross country championship team, Broghammer posted personal bests of 1:54 in the 800m, 4:17 in the 1600m, and 15:49 in the 5k. He graduated summa cum laude and was recognized as a National Merit Commended Scholar.
Kyle Clark - Sophomore (Transfer) - Bloomington, Ind.
Clark arrives from the University of Illinois, where he competed in both track and cross country. At Bloomington North, he was a six-time All-State honoree and part of a state-record 4x800m relay squad.
Eli DeSimone - Freshman - Pittsburgh, Pa.
The Pennsylvania native was a four-year varsity runner at Winchester Thurston. He helped his team win a state cross country title and is a five-time PIAA track medalist.
Kyle Friedl - Freshman - New Lenox, Ill.
Friedl competed in three sports at Lincoln-Way Central, excelling most on the track where he was a two-time all-state honoree and team captain.
Daniel Grauer - Freshman - Decatur, Ill.
Grauer helped lead Mt. Zion to three sectional titles and a state runner-up finish. Individually, he was a four-time state qualifier in cross country and three-time state qualifier in track.
Jackson Hopkins - Freshman - Crystal Lake, Ill.
Hopkins adds to the Blue Demons' Illinois presence, joining the roster after a steady career at Crystal Lake Central.
Nicholas Quinn - Junior (Transfer) - Rogers, Ark.
Quinn transfers to DePaul after two years at the University of Kansas. At Rogers High, he was a six-time Arkansas state champion and three-time national qualifier across multiple events.
Cole Tupper - Freshman - Elgin, Ill.
At Elgin High School, Tupper earned six varsity letters in cross country and track. His PRs include 4:17.53 in the 1600m, 9:21 in the 3200m, and 14:52 in the 3-mile.
Reid Waco - Freshman - Chicago, Ill.
A local product, Waco joins the Blue Demons from Lincoln Park High School.
