Blue Demons Complete First Round at Badger Invitational

Round two was halted due to darkness, will resume Tuesday
CHICAGO – DePaul golf completed a strong first day at the Badger Invitational, highlighted by a solid performance on the front nine of the first round. Competition was halted Monday evening due to darkness with teams in the middle of the second round. Play will resume Tuesday morning at 8:45 a.m. in a shotgun start.
After the conclusion of today's events, DePaul sits at holes 10-12 with a strong performance to start the second round. DePaul shot 298 (+10) as a team in the first round, highlighted by a 73 (+1) from Rohan Gopaldas. After having a 78 (+6) in the first round, Dominic Lucchesi rebounded nicely with a -3 on the back nine of his second 18. Lucchesi secured back-to-back birdies twice, on holes 10 and 11, and, 16 and 17.
Matthew Rastogi, who made his DePaul debut Monday, sits +1 in the second round through 11 holes. Rastogi had a team-high five birdies in the first round for a 74 (+2). Following his team-best performance in the first round, Gopaldas sits at +1 through 10 holes in the second round.
Austin Scott tied Rastogi's first round performance, also going two over par, for a personal-best round of 18. Through 12 holes of the second round, Scott is 4-strokes over par. North Chery rounded out DePaul's team competitors with a 77 (+5) through the first 18 and sits at +1 in the second round.
Jack Mann also made his collegiate debut Monday, competing as an individual. Mann totaled 91 (+19) in the first round and is +2 in the second round through 8 holes.
