Iro Collects League Weekly Honor for First Time

Sophomore goalkeeper earns honor roll nod
CHICAGO – DePaul women's soccer sophomore goalkeeper Maddie Iro was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, the conference announced Monday afternoon. The recognition marks the first BIG EAST weekly honor of her career.
In her first career start for the Blue Demons, Iro anchored the defense with five saves in Wednesday's 1-1 draw at Butler. The Christchurch, New Zealand native came up clutch in the second half, recording multiple late stops to preserve the result and help DePaul secure its first point of conference play.
Iro transferred to DePaul ahead of the 2025 campaign after spending her freshman season at High Point, where she made her collegiate debut against Liberty and totaled 10 saves in two starts, including five each versus Liberty and Clemson.
