Blue Demons Face Road Test at Butler

INDIANAPOLIS – Following three-straight home wins, DePaul men's basketball faces an important road test Tuesday, Jan. 20 as the Blue Demons travel to Butler. Tuesday's contest is set to tip at 6:30 p.m. CT from Hinkle Fieldhouse on truTV, with Spero Dedes, Greg Anthony and Andy Katz on the call. Zach Zaidman and Dave Corzine will have DePaul's radio broadcast on Sirius XM and the DePaul Blue Demons App.
LAST TIME OUT
DePaul (11-7, 3-4 BIG EAST) has won three of its last four games since turning the calendar to 2026, including a Friday night victory over Marquette. Trailing at halftime, DePaul opened the second half with 14 unanswered points on its way to the 80-75 win. The Blue Demons turned in one of their most efficient offensive performances of the season, knocking down 11 three-pointers at a 45.8 percent clip while dishing out 20 team assists.
CJ Gunn earned BIG EAST Player of the Week honors after posting a career-high 31 points to go along with seven rebounds and three assists. The Indianapolis native is averaging 14.5 points per game and ranks fourth in the BIG EAST (minimum five made field goals per game) with a 45.3 field goal percentage.

SCOUTING BUTLER
Butler (11-7, 2-5 BIG EAST) looks to build momentum after a 77-66 road win Saturday against No. 25 Seton Hall. The victory snapped a four-game skid and was fueled by a 25-point performance from Finley Bizjack. Butler is 7-3 at home this season under head coach Thad Matta, now in his 21st season as a head coach.
Bizjack leads the Bulldogs with 16.6 points per game, followed closely by Michael Ajayi at 16.3. Ajayi ranks second nationally in rebounding, averaging 11.8 per game. As a team, Butler leads the BIG EAST in rebounds per game (40.17) and rebounding margin. The Bulldogs also rank second in the league in free-throw attempts per game, just ahead of DePaul, with both teams averaging more than 20 attempts per contest.
