Men’s Tennis Set for Chicago Weekend Against Denver, Butler

Blue Demons open BIG EAST play Sunday at home
EVANSTON/CHICAGO – DePaul men's tennis returns to Chicagoland this weekend for a pair of dual matches, beginning with a neutral-site contest against Denver on Saturday at 2 p.m. CT in Evanston, Ill. before hosting Butler on Sunday at 12 p.m. CT at XS Tennis Village in Chicago in the Blue Demons' first BIG EAST action of the season.
The Blue Demons continue their dual campaign after opening against a demanding slate that has included Cleveland State, VCU, ETSU, Notre Dame and Wisconsin. Three of DePaul's five matches have been decided by two points or fewer, including back-to-back 4-3 setbacks early in the schedule.
Sebastian Medica, Augusto Pardo Cano and Alejandro Gandini each lead DePaul with two dual singles victories this season. Gandini's wins have come at the top of the lineup, while Medica and Pardo Cano have delivered key points in the middle and back half of the order. Andy Hadziabdic has also contributed a dual point as DePaul has shown balance throughout singles play.
In doubles, the tandem of Thomas Giles and Sven Moser leads the team with five overall wins as a pairing as the Blue Demons continue working to secure the doubles point in dual competition.

- Theo Coats leads team at 17-3 overall (5-1 dual)
- Raffaello Papajcik is 5-1 in dual singles, including 3-1 at No. 1
- Connor Robb-Wilcox owns 12 total singles wins this season
- Robb-Wilcox/Coats lead in doubles at 7-2 overall
BUTLER NOTES (Feb. 22 - Chicago, Ill.)
- Record: 2-6 overall (0-0 BIG EAST)
- Head Coach: Sam Miles (47-37 career record at Butler)
- Defeated Toledo (4-3) and Marian (4-0) this spring
- Rahul Konakanchi leads Bulldogs with 9-4 singles record
- Nicolas Arts (8-10) and Siddhartha Lama (8-10) provide lineup depth
- Arts/Konakanchi are 5-5 as a doubles pair
