DePaul Comes Up Short Against No. 61 Boise State

Men’s tennis edged 4-3 in ranked battle
BOISE, Idaho – DePaul men's tennis clinched the doubles point in consecutive matches but ultimately fell 4-3 to No. 61 Boise State Friday evening at the Boas Indoor Tennis Center, continuing its search for a road victory this season while closing out its western road swing.
The Blue Demons secured the early advantage with wins on courts one and two in doubles. Alejandro Gandini and Pablo Torres Almeida earned a 6-4 victory at No. 1 doubles, while Sebastian Medica and Augusto Pardo Cano followed with a 6-4 decision on court two. The pairing of Sven Moser and Thomas Giles trailed 5-3 at No. 3 doubles when play was halted after DePaul clinched the point.
Singles play swung the momentum as Boise State captured the first three completed courts. Avery Tallakson defeated Gandini 6-2, 6-4 at No. 1 singles before victories at No. 5 and No. 6 pushed the Broncos ahead 3-1.
The deciding point came on court two, where Pablo Torres Almeida claimed the opening set before falling 4-6, 6-1, 6-3 to give the hosts the team victory. DePaul collected the final two matches of the evening as Sebastian Medica rallied for a 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 win on court three and Andy Hadziabdic closed play with a 3-6, 6-3, 7-5 victory on court four.
