DePaul women’s tennis reaches 10 wins, scores second 7-0 result of the season

NEW PROVIDENCE, N.J. – DePaul women's tennis beat Seton Hall on Saturday evening in a battle held at 5 p.m. CT at Murray Hill Tennis & Fitness in New Providence, N.J. DePaul extends its win streak to five matches, and improves the Blue Demons to 6-0 in BIG EAST play. The shutout capped a 2-0 East Coast road trip following DePaul's victory at St. John's on Friday.

For the first time this season, DePaul took the doubles point without dropping a game, winning 6-0 on both completed courts. On court No. 1, Hannah Smith and Clara Nilsson triumphed swiftly, and Roberta Sechi and Helin Alvarez then followed suit in the tandem's first 6-0 victory of the year.

The momentum carried through singles play, with DePaul clinching the match win with three straight set successes. Yasemin Pehlivan swept her opponent, 6-2, 6-1, on court No. 3, and Smith prevailed 6-2, 6-4 on No. 2. The freshman Nilsson secured the match for the Blue Demons in a quick 6-4, 6-1 outcome.

Throughout the rest of singles play, Helin Alvarez, Sasha Stula, and Sechi provided relief, all collecting points in their battles, completing the rout in favor of DePaul.
