TALLAHASSEE, FLA. – DePaul golf's North Chery continues his strong freshman campaign with his fourth-straight top-25 finish as the Blue Demons concluded action at the Seminole Intercollegiate, Tuesday.
"The team continues to show meaningful improvement, though we believe there was an opportunity to close out the tournament on a stronger note," said head coach Ryan Jamison. "Competiting against high-level opponents this week highlighted that our continued development will come from refining the smaller details. Areas such as maturity, discipline and accountability remain essential and focusing on these will be key to our progress moving forward. With a few days to prepare for the next event, we are focused on taking another step in the right direction."
The strong field included 11 top 150 ranked programs, with DePaul finishing 11th overall in the 21 team-field. The Blue Demons finished tied in 11th with #97 Southern Illinois and above #89 North Alabama. DePaul had a final team score of 902 (+38).
Chery rounded out his event with a 73 (+1) Tuesday in the final round to go with Monday's one-under par performance. He finished the event with a 222 (+6), his second-best performance of the season over par.
Billy Gneiser came in a tie for 43rd with a total event score of 227 (+11), followed by Rohan Gopaldas 231 (+15) in 66th. Dominic Lucchesi and Matthew Rastogi rounded out DePaul's competitors with 232 (+16) and 236 (+20), respectively.
DePaul returns to action March 22-24 at the UC San Diego Invitational, hosted in La Jolla, Calif.
