DePaul Vice President and Director of Athletics DeWayne Peevy announced Monday the hiring of Ryan Jamison as head coach of DePaul men’s golf. A 2005 DePaul graduate, Jamison returns to his alma mater with 15 years of coaching experience and five seasons as a professional caddie on the PGA Tour.
“We are thrilled to welcome Ryan Jamison back home to DePaul as our new men’s golf head coach,” said Peevy. “As an alumnus, championship-level coach and current PGA Tour caddie, Ryan brings a unique blend of elite experience and Blue Demon pride. He embodies the three qualities I value most in a leader – work ethic, passion and being a great teammate. I’m confident he will elevate our program and make an immediate impact on our student-athletes both on and off the course.”
Jamison most recently spent the past five years as a PGA Tour caddie for Akshay Bhatia, Quade Cummins, Isaiah Salinda, Justin Suh and Brandon Wu. In 2024, Jamison and Bhatia teamed up to win the Valero Texas Open. Jamison also has caddie experience at events including the US Open, PGA Championship and the Master’s. Jamison helped guide Suh to the 2023 Korn Ferry Tour Championship where Suh won Player of the Year.
“I’m incredibly honored and excited to return to my alma mater and lead the DePaul golf program,” said Jamison. “This university holds a special place in my heart and I’m deeply grateful to DeWayne Peevy, Peter Tombasco and the search committee for their belief in me and this opportunity. After my time as a caddie, I’m thrilled to bring that experience back into coaching and help grow a program I care so deeply about. I can’t wait to get started and build something special with our student-athletes and this wonderful University.”
An experienced head coach and proven talent developer, Jamison previously served three seasons as head coach at Florida Atlantic University, where he guided the program to its highest-ever national ranking in 2021. Under his leadership, the Owls posted a program-record 289.05 stroke average and improved more than 75 spots in the Golfweek national rankings.
Prior to FAU, Jamison spent two seasons at Stanford University, helping the Cardinal reach back-to-back NCAA Men’s Golf Championship Finals. He helped lead the recruiting efforts for Stanford’s top-ranked 2020 signing class and was a nominee for the Jan Strickland Assistant Coach of the Year Award. While at Stanford, he coached two All-Americans, including the No. 1-ranked amateur in the world and Ben Hogan Award winner, Maverick McNealy.
Jamison’s first head coaching role came at Nova Southeastern University, where he led the program to the 2015 NCAA Division II National Championship. He was named the 2015 Division II Dave Williams National Coach of the Year after coaching 12 All-Americans and the Division II National Player of the Year during his four-year tenure.
He began his coaching career as an assistant at Nova Southeastern before returning to DePaul for two seasons as an assistant coach, helping the Blue Demons achieve their highest BIG EAST Conference finish at the time in 2012.
A four-year letterwinner at DePaul from 2001-05, Jamison earned his bachelor’s degree in commerce before completing an MBA in sports management from DePaul’s Kellstadt Graduate School of Business in 2013.
