Sasha Stula Collects Fifth BIG EAST Honor of the Year

After beating Notre Dame’s No. 63 ranked Molnar, Stula reaches 14-4 in 2026
CHICAGO – DePaul women's tennis star junior Sasha Stula earned her fifth BIG EAST Women's Singles Player of the Week award of the season on Monday afternoon after netting another ranked win. Against Notre Dame, Stula bested No. 63 ranked Bianca Molnar in straight sets, 7-6(7), 6-4, improving Stula to 2-0 against ranked opponents in 2026. In February, Stula defeated Northwestern's then No. 43 ranked Margot Phanthala in a 4-6, 7-6(6), 10-5 thriller.
With this week's accolades, the Gifu, Japan, native has taken her tally to five BIG EAST weekly honors this year, the most of any Blue Demon since 2010. Stula also currently has the most duals singles wins in the BIG EAST with 14, all coming at No. 1 court. She is also 6-1 in conference play.
Last year, Stula earned Second Team All BIG EAST honors, and snagged one Player of the Week award during the 2025 campaign. Her 12-5 tally in 2025 built upon her 2-12 record in 2024, and currently in 2026, Stula already has surpassed last year's mark.
