Veteran forward joins Blue Demons for senior campaign
CHICAGO – DePaul women's basketball head coach Jill M. Pizzotti announced Tuesday the signing of Louis Volker for the 2026-27 season. A 6-foot-1 forward from Purcellville, Va., Volker joins the Blue Demons after spending a pair of seasons at George Mason.
"Louis brings versatility to our program," said Pizzotti. "She has the ability to stretch the floor and shoot the three, as well as score with her back to the basket. Her skill set allows us to take full advantage of what she brings on both ends of the floor. She gives us the ability to defend all positions, and she is a hard worker who embraces everything basketball, academics and the city of Chicago."
Volker arrives in Lincoln Park with postseason experience, having helped lead George Mason to an Atlantic 10 Championship in 2025 and an NCAA Tournament appearance. She played a key role in a successful 2025-26 campaign for the Patriots, who finished 23-10 overall and 16-2 in conference play en route to a Women's Basketball Invitation Tournament (WBIT) berth.
Across her collegiate career, Volker brings veteran experience, having appeared in nearly 100 games with 34 starts. In her three seasons of competition, Volker has averaged nearly 5.0 points and 3.5 rebounds per game while shooting 44 percent from the field.
Prior to her time at George Mason, Volker began her collegiate career at Missouri State, where she appeared in 31 games during her freshman season.
Academically, Volker will pursue a Master of Arts in Writing and Publishing at DePaul.
