The left-hander recorded four perfect games and 11 no-hitters
She finished with a career record of 83-4 in three seasons, 1,036 strikeouts, 19 home runs and had a 72-game hitting streak during her career
In 2009, she led Coal City to third-place in Class 2A, going 31-3 with a 0.32 ERA
In basketball, Verdun averaged 19.1 points and 10.5 rebounds as a senior
She led the Coalers to 26 wins (tying a school record) and to their first regional title since 1997
