 - The Gators started the season at 4-11 before McDonald led the team to 13 wins in 14 games en route to the state semifinals
 - Earned MVP honors for the Sunrise Region and All-Southeast League Team
 - Played for Lorenzo Jarvis at Green Valley
 - Also one of the nation's top prep high jumpers with a personal best mark of 7-0 as a senior
 - That height was ranked seventh in the nation in 2012
 - Won the Nevada state high jump as a sophomore and was runner-up as a senior
 - Spent junior year in Mississippi and claimed a 2011 Class 2A state title with Piney Woods High School
