DePaul Set for Final Exhibition Tuneup Against Notre Dame

Blue Demons to travel to South Bend
SOUTH BEND, IND. – DePaul men's basketball is set for its final exhibition tune-up ahead of the 2025-26 season as they travel to South Bend, Ind. for a matchup against former conference foe, Notre Dame. The exhibition is set for Friday, Oct. 24 at 5 p.m. CT from Purcell Pavilion.
LOYOLA EXHIBITION RECAP
DePaul hosted cross-town foe Loyola Chicago for its first exhibition matchup of the year, defeating the Ramblers 92-90 in an overtime game. Five Blue Demons reached double-digit scoring while 10 of the 11 players who saw action registered points. RJ Smith led the Blue Demons with 18 points, including three three-pointers and two steals.
The Blue Demons offense continued its up-tempo style of play fans became accustomed to last season, including assisting on over 75 percent of the team's made field goals.
PREVIEWING NOTRE DAME
Notre Dame hosted another BIG EAST opponent for its first exhibition game, defeating Butler 77-76 last Friday. A pair of returners in Markus Burton and Cole Certa led the Irish with 12 points a piece while Notre Dame made 12 three-pointers as a team.
The Fighting Irish were picked 10th out of 18 teams in the preseason Atlantic Coast Conference Poll while Burton earned Preseason First Team honors and two votes for Preseason Player of the Year.
2025-26 SEASON OPENER
DePaul next turns its attention to the 2025-26 official season opener, Nov. 3. The Blue Demons will host another Chicago school as they take on Chicago State. The game is set for a 7 p.m. tip from Wintrust Arena. Tickets are available here.
