Tarrance Crump joined DePaul men's basketball as the program's player of development in June 2021. The Chicago native most recently was at MIssouri with previous stops at SIU Edwardsville, Southeast Missouri, California and Tennessee.
Crump spent 2020-21 as a graduate assistant at Missouri after five years as an assistant coach at SIU-Edwardsville and Southeast Missouri.
He was as an assistant coach at SEMO during the 2019-20 campaign that followed four seasons on the staff at SIUE from 2015-19. Prior to his stops at SIUE and SEMO, Crump served as assistant director of operations at California during the 2014-15 season and was an intern at Tennessee in 2013-14.
While at Cal, Crump was involved in many facets of the Bears' program. He was responsible for film breakdown following games, assisted with scouting reports, served as the staff liaison to the academic advisor, managed basketball camps, and organized community service events for the student-athletes. He handled many of the same duties during the 2013-14 season as an intern on Cuonzo Martin's staff at Tennessee. He was on staff when the Volunteers advanced to the NCAA Tournament and won a school-record three games en route to reaching the Sweet 16.
Crump began his coaching career as head boys' basketball coach at Vine Middle School during the 2012-2013 season and the head women's basketball coach at North Lawndale College Prep in 2011-2012 where his team won 20 games, while also achieving the highest team grade point average in school history.
Crump was a standout guard for the Purdue Boilermakers from 2006-08 as the Boilermakers won 47 games during his two seasons and advanced to the Round of 32 in the NCAA Tournament each year.
He is married to the former Tave' Johhnson.
