Abby Ramirez was named assistant softball coach in October 2021, returning to Lincoln Park after serving as an interim assistant coach in the spring of 2021. In her interim stint, Ramirez helped guide the Blue Demons to a BIG EAST regular season title and earned BIG EAST Coaching Staff of the Year honors.
As a four-year shortstop at Michigan, Ramirez was a three-time NFCA All-Great Lakes honoree landing on the first, second and third teams during her time in Ann Arbor. Additionally, the Chicago, Illinois native was named to the 2015 NCAA All-Tournament Team after the Wolverines finished runner-up at the Women's College World Series in Oklahoma City.

Upon completing her collegiate career, Ramirez played two seasons for the Chicago Bandits in the National Pro FastPitch League while also serving as a Graduate Manager for Northwestern Softball. With the Wildcats, Ramirez managed practice plans while assisting with day-to-day operations of the program. Following her stint with the Bandits, Ramirez was selected to compete in the inaugural season of Athletes Unlimited in 2020 with the greatest softball athletes in the world. She returned for season two in 2021 before participating in both AUX and the Championship season in 2022.Â

Ramirez, a four-time U-M Athletic Academic Achievement recipient and a three-time All-Big Ten Academic Team honoree, graduated with her Bachelors in Communications from Michigan and received her Master’s in Sports Administration from Northwestern in 2019.
