DePaul softball coach Tracie Adix-Zins announced on July 27 that Joe Yegge has joined the staff as associate head coach. Yegge is a highly successful coach at Kirkwood Community College and starts at DePaul on Aug. 13.

In his coaching career, Yegge has compiled more than 600 victories including a 537-112 (.827) record over the last 11 years as head coach at Kirkwood. He led Kirkwood to five NJCAA DII World Series appearances and led his staff to three NFCA Midwest Region Coaching Staff of the Year awards. In his last 10 seasons at Kirkwood, the Eagles have won at least 41 games including six years with at least 52 victories. The Eagles have also finished in the top five nationally in each of the last six seasons.

Overall, Yegge he developed 39 NFCA All-Americans and 29 NJCAA All-Americans while his teams have totaled 581 home runs over the last seven seasons. Three National Player of the Year winners have played under Yegge and he has totaled 18 Academic All-Americans as a head coach.
