Ploner’s first season in Chicago saw similar results to her last at Tulsa. She helped head coach Marisa Arce lead the Blue Demons to a 17-8 clip during the 2023-24 dual campaign and reach the BIG EAST Championship for the ninth time in the last 10 seasons. DePaul won over 70 percent of its doubles matches in 2024 including a stretch of nine consecutive contests that saw the Blue Demons secure the doubles point. DePaul won the BIG EAST Doubles Team of the Week on three occasions.
A native of Sand in Taufers, Italy, Ploner was a letterwinner at Tulsa for five seasons (2016-21). While with the Golden Hurricanes, she amassed an 73-43 singles record and a 99-37 mark in doubles play. Tulsa broke on to the national scene during Ploner’s career, earning an ITA ranking as high as 16th in February of 2018. Ploner participated in the NCAA tournament four times, highlighted by a sweet sixteen berth in 2018. The following season, Ploner was ranked 4th in the country for doubles heading into dual play. She reached the quarterfinals of the NCAA tournament in the doubles bracket finishing the year with a 30-7 record en route to being named to the ITA All-American team. In her final season, Ploner totaled a 16-3 doubles record, advancing to the NCAA tournament.
Ploner remained a part of the Golden Hurricanes’ program for the 2021-22 season after graduating with a degree in business administration and a master’s degree in business analytics. As a volunteer assistant coach, Tulsa collected a 17-8 record during the dual season and reached the American Athletic Conference Championship. Tulsa excelled in doubles play throughout the dual campaign amassing a 46-17 record as a team including a 14-3 mark during conference matches, a credit to Ploner’s expertise in doubles play.
