Gardner and Sullivan Lead DePaul at UNC Classic

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - In their first outdoor meet of the season, the DePaul women's track and field team were led by third-place finishes by Montia Gardner and Katie Sullivan. Gardner took third in the discus competition while Sullivan placed third in the high jump.
Gardner's toss of 42.80 meters put her behind Kelly Smoke (44.60m) of North Carolina State and Jill Pedretti (51.00m) of North Carolina. Sullivan jumped 1.65 meters in the high jump while Takeithia Jordan of Akron won the competition with a 1.70 height.
Other top finishers for DePaul included a fourth-place by Megan Greeley in the javelin and Erin Moffett and Lynsey Psimas taking fifth place in the 1,500-meter run and 3,000-meter steeplechase, respectively. Diana Runnels also scored for DePaul with a sixth-place in the 200-meter dash as did Jessica Karlin with a sixth-place in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.
